This is a time for change in the household and workplace for Steve and Cindy Ross. One might say this change is somewhat circular as we are both returning to our previous professions.

Also, we are moving this coming week from NSW to Victoria state due to the job opportunity. Steve is returning to his Aircraft industry trade. He worked for Qantas as Senior Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for 23 years before ceasing to pursue the rod business full time. (BD has been around since 1991.) As for me: I have returned to my arena as a professional writer. Originally we planned to continue with BD part time but a week ago had to make a very hard decision due to all the work that has now come our way in our professions. We realized sadly there won‘t be any spare time to devote to the rod business. We have poured our hearts and many hours into this company to create the best BD rods possible with the best customer service possible. We have met and enjoyed the friendships of many anglers over the last 11 years. We want you to know we appreciate the dedication and devotion you have shown to our product. Many thanks to all who have supported BD in sales and friendship.

We chose not to sell the company. So many have said, we are BD. That is true. So we chose to end the business of BD with ourselves as the first and final owners. The equipment, etc was purchased by another rodbuilder who we feel has vision and could make great use of Steve‘s various hand made tools and collectables. Perrie of HotRods has taken over the goods and I am suggesting to all my customers to support this fine builder who knows his business.

As for BM and the long time association we have had with them, we send a huge thanks. It has been such a pleasure to have supported and sponsored such a fine site. I wish the leaders/caretakers much continued success.

And for all the BD anglers we have had the pleasure of getting to know, many thanks for your interest and promotion of BD over the years. All efforts are/were appreciated.

I am sorry we have to bow out but we could not refuse the opportunities that have come our way. All the very best to each member here. And as I said, do check out Perrie‘s work and consider him for your next rod.
